Title: Thunderbolt City
Pairing: Steve/Tony, Rhodey/Bucky, past Bucky/Tony
Rating: PG-13 for swearing. So much swearing.
Word count: ~6,400
Warning: Angst (resolved), humour, romance, TONY FEELS, non-concensual outing of a gay person (past), AU, DID I MENTION THE TONY FEELS.
Summary: It's competely unfair that the one time the whole thunder-from-the-sky thing happens to Tony, it has to be for someone completely out of his league, who takes one look at him and decides he wants none of it, thanks.
Notes: Entirely based on the gif below. Completely [livejournal.com profile] sometimesalways's fault for posting it and saying "If you wrote me fic based on this gif I'd love you forever", and [livejournal.com profile] foxxcub for asking me the next morning to entertain her while she was finishing the edits on her GLORIOUS COLLEGE AU FIC, upon which this happened in more or less half a day. Many thanks also to both of them for cheering me on, and to the latter for the exceedingly helpful and exceptionally diverting beta job. <3 Cookies for everyone who knows where the title comes from -- and before you ask, yes, I am a ginormous sap, okay. Also don't die of shock if there's a sequel to this.

I never expected 'the thunderbolt'. )

This is my own haul from Day Nine -- a glorious, beautiful picture of Raven from this story! ashfjkldghdfjkgh I CANNOT CONTAIN MY GLEE AND HEARTSEYES. It is PERFECTION.

Now to pay it forward.

Day 9

In your own space, create a fanwork. A drabble, a ficlet, or an icon, art or meta or a rec list. A picspam. Something. Leave a comment in this post saying you did it. Include a link to your post if you feel comfortable doing so.

So a while back, there was that meme going around, where you pick a character and I tell you three pieces of my personal head canon. And when [livejournal.com profile] futureperfect did it, I asked for Phil Coulson (for, well, REASONS. >.>;;) This is part of what she said:

2. If Coulson had any kind of spare time (which he doesn't, but if he did) he's probably have a hobby that involves being nowhere near juiced up super heroes and very very very very very much by himself. Like fishing. Or cross-stitch. Or scale models.

(4. He's a stress smoker. He's trying to give up. It's not easy because his life = stress.)

Upon which I pounced immediately, because, I MEAN. *___________*

To cut a long story short, she's been having a rough couple of days, and in her Day Seven of the meme, she asked for some fanfic. I... guess this might not be what you had in mind, darling, but I hope you enjoy it regardless! <3 BECAUSE, WELL, PLOT BUNNIES. >.>;;

Title: Babysitting is a calling, not a 9 to 5
Characters/Pairings: Phil Coulson, ensemble Avengers, Clint/Phil (implied)
Rating: PG-13 for language/themes
Length: ~1,500
Summary: In which Phil takes a well-deserved vacation to a far-away, peaceful retreat, and he's fine, damn it.

He has books, he has his cross-stitch project to keep himself occupied, and there are no phones or computers or wi-fi anywhere in the vicinity. See? He's going to be just fine. )

A pinch hit I wrote for [livejournal.com profile] secret_mutant this Christmas! :)

Title: Part of the path of joy
A Gift For: [personal profile] fengirl88
Characters/Pairings: Charles/Erik pre-slash, Logan
Rating: PG-13 for language
Length: ~1,200
Summary: Erik lets himself live in the moment, for once. For the prompt, What happens after the scene with Logan in XMFC.

Ugh, SO behind on the Snowflake Challenge. I think I might make one big post for the three days that I'm lagging behind on, to avoid spammage.

Anyway, have some mutants in love instead. <3 This was written for the [livejournal.com profile] secret_mutant exchange, for the mod no less. Which is a nervewracking proposition, let me tell you, especially when they're as awesome as [livejournal.com profile] pocky_slash is. Anyway, this is that story.

Title: Irresistible force, meet Immovable object
A Gift For: [livejournal.com profile] pocky_slash
Characters/Pairings: Charles/Erik, Raven, Moira
Rating: PG-13
Length: ~1,800
Summary: Charles doesn't understand how he ended up where he is, with a blind date for the New Year's Eve party and a crush on someone entirely unattainable -- or so he thinks. Modern AU.

Now with amazing fanart of Raven in her blue, blue dress by the ridiculously talented [livejournal.com profile] zoronoa.

I'll try hard ignoring those lips I adore, but how long can anyone try? )

All right, well, DISTRACTION WHILE I'M TRYING NOT TO CHEW OFF A LIMB IN ANTICIPATION.

My entry for this year's [livejournal.com profile] sherlockmas.

Title: Not what is said, but what is whispered
Characters/Pairing: John/Sherlock, Mycroft/Lestrade, The Yard
Category: Slash
Rating: PG-13 for swearing
Word Count: ~2,100
Warnings: angst, meta, humour, epistolary-style fic
Summary: It takes The Yard's unparalleled policing talents to alert John Watson to the fact that his blog is in fact much more popular than he imagines. There are... stories online. About him. And Sherlock. Together. Naturally, John turns to Sherlock for a bit of a rant, expecting him to understand. It backfires spectacularly when it turns out that Sherlock hasn't been entirely honest with him...
Author's Notes: Many, many thanks to the wonderful [livejournal.com profile] stardust_made, for the most insightful suggestions that have vastly improved the piece. <3 Title adapred from a quote by Logan Pearsall Smith. Originally posted here.

Just something silly and excessively fluffy (again) to make your Monday night better. For [livejournal.com profile] ssw_loved, who is moving into her new dorms today, and maintained that it was my duty as her bro to distract her. Which I was perfectly happy to do thus.

Her prompt was 'Cat, book, rusted'. And boys in love.

sirona_fics: (charles/erik regency)
Title: First Impressions
Pairing: Charles/Erik, Hank/Raven
Word count: ~27,000 overall (~9,700 this part)
Warnings: very brief mentions of past child abuse
Disclaimer: X-Men belogs to its creators. Pride & Prejudice belongs to the public domain, but the genius belongs to Miss Austen.
Summary It is a truth universally acknowledged, that a single man in possession of a good fortune must be in want of a spouse -- or the nearest set of curtains to hide behind, if you were to believe Mr Charles Xavier. Little does he know that he himself will soon put test to that very truth.
Notes: First of all, my undying grattitude to [livejournal.com profile] zarah5, without whom this story would not exist. She was wildly enthusiastic when I first mentioned the idea, and she cheerleaded, supplied me with fantastic music, and betaed this thing until it's the more-or-less coherent version you see before you today. I will say that I did not re-read the book or re-watch the 1995 or 2005 films as I was writing -- all the dialogue and events within come from my own memory, and thus portray a mix of the original text, the BBC's and Joe Wright's rather excellent adaptations, so that my favourite moments of all three were reflected. This story follows the plot of Pride and Prejudice throughout, but certain changes have been made to accommodate the fact that Miss Lizzy Bennett is now Mr Charles Xavier. A soundtrack to this fic, most of which is [livejournal.com profile] zarah5's work, can be found here. I am also excessively grateful to [livejournal.com profile] lark for compiling and posting In Revolution, a wonderful Charles/Erik mix that carried me through to the end of this monster of a story. And at last, if you have made it all this way through the notes, there remains nothing further for me to say but, Enjoy, dear Reader.

So, as all of you who are familiar with the awesomesauce person that is our darling [livejournal.com profile] gyzym will know, it was her birthday on 3rd June. And because I am a flake, and I don't do so well with birthday deadlines, I am just now getting around to posting this thingamajig I wrote for the occasion. I hope you enjoy it, love, even though it's a little late! My heartfelt thanks as always to [livejournal.com profile] zolac_no_miko, who fearlessly wrangled by Britishisms and lack of American Pop Culture knowledge, until this started actually making sense.

So this is an awfully old fic, written almost a year ago, last August for the H/D Travel Fair. I don't know why I never posted it here; probably something to do with those pesky Arthur and Eames taking over my life back then! ;P But the last few days I've been heeding [livejournal.com profile] altri_uccelli's excellent H/D fic recs, and I've been slowly but surely remembering why I love that pairing so much. And also that was the first time that me and Altri talked properly, over that fic; and for that I will be forever grateful for writing it, because it brought her into my life. <3

So here it is, posted to my LJ for posterity's sake.

Title: There’s nothing you can do that can’t be done.
Prompt Number: PROMPT #144
Travel Destination: Europe: UK
Rating: PG-13
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, implied Ron/Hermione, implied Ginny/Neville
Summary: The Roma have come to England, with their fortune telling and their magic tents. They are rumoured to be able to show people the way to gain their true desires – for all his scepticism, Harry can’t fault the results.
Warnings: implied violence/abuse at the start of the story, unrelated to the pairing or the other main characters; some swearing, a smidgen of (resolved) angst.
Word Count: ~10,700
Author's Notes: The Roma tribes really do originate from India – or so an old History textbook tells me. Harry and Draco’s route in Sofia is perfectly achievable – I have walked it myself many a time. Some of you may recognise certain lines – I just couldn’t help myself. They belong to Christopher Nolan; I’ve just twigged them a little. The lyrics and the title are from All You Need Is Love, by The Beatles. Betaed by [livejournal.com profile] nicevenn.

Title: Darling buds of May
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~3,000
Disclaimer: Definitely not mine. They belong to Chris Nolan, but bless him for giving them to the world!
Warnings: none, really
Summary: When Arthur agrees to help out a desperate customer at the last minute, he has no idea what he's getting himself into. But then that's Eames for you. If only Eames would stop trying to trick his name out of him, everything would be right with the world.
Author’s Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] distracterisey, for her generous donation to [livejournal.com profile] help_japan. Thank you, darling! Her prompt was florist!Arthur/recurring customer!Eames, which I was all over once I read it! You've been an absolure star, love, and I hope you enjoy this as much as I enjoyed writing it; it's as light and silly as promised! <3 Thanks as always to SuperBeta [livejournal.com profile] zolac_no_miko for her sharp eye and unfailing support! <3

Darling buds of May )
sirona_fics: (steve/danny hug)
Turns out it's a good thing my dissertation hand-in date is pushed back to 18th May, because for the past two days I have felt like my head was going to explode, a mix of hay fever and inflamed sinuses from hell. I feel like utter crap, my blood pressure has been playing up, in short -- I fucking hate mid-spring.

So I've no idea whether this thing is any good, but people seemed to like it, so. That's good enough for me, I guess. [livejournal.com profile] perspi did this absolutely, utterly delightful tag to this ficlet, over here. Be sure to check it, it's at least twice as good as the original. You can thank [livejournal.com profile] delicatale's awesomesauce hug meme for all this happymaking stuff!

Title: Share each other like an island
Rating: PG-13
Word Count: ~2,800
Disclaimer: Definitely not mine. They belong to Chris Nolan, but bless him for giving them to the world!
Warnings: angst, third person viewpoint, allusions to violence, epistolary fic.
Summary: It’s weird, how someone she’s never met, never will meet, likely, feels closer to her than her own mother; how the voice of a stranger has become so important to her that it can lift or sink her, fill her with trepidation for their safety and well-being, make her feel a part of something bigger than herself.
Author’s Notes: Written for [livejournal.com profile] fred_bear, for her generous donation to [livejournal.com profile] help_japan. Thank you, darling! Her prompt was Set Fire To The Third Bar (lyrics here). This is a story about longing, and not so patient waiting, but mostly about what it means to be in love. Very experimental, first time I've written third-person-viewpoint. Thanks and half of my soul as always go to [livejournal.com profile] zolac_no_miko for her unending, relentless support and a most helpful sharp eye! [livejournal.com profile] fred_bear, you have been a sweetheart and so very patient. I just hope this is at least a little like what you were hoping for! ♥ The user account I've made up is completely fictitious. There might very well be someone with that username out there, but it sadly won't be Eames!

Title: Morning finds you still warm and breathing
Pairing: Steve/Danny eventual
Rating: PG-13
Word count: ~7,500
Disclaimer: Characters belong to CBS.
Warnings: Non-permanent de-aging.
Summary: Danny's not answering his phone, and Steve is not panicking. Not at all, no, it's fine, it's not like Danny got doused with a suspicious gas compound during yesterday's bust--except that he did, and now Steve is taking Not Panicking to a whole new level. A de-aged BB!Danny fic.
Notes: Please to be suspending disbelief about the science -- it's complete bogus, as most of you suspect. This fic is for [livejournal.com profile] andrealyn, who not only gave me the plot bunny, but betaed it for me -- and she did it in 23 minutes. I thought I had a quick beta turnaround!! Title from This Tornado Loves You by Neko Case.

Title: Not Shy of a Spark
Gift From: [livejournal.com profile] sirona_gs
Gift For: [livejournal.com profile] vvu
Rating: PG-13
Warning(s): canon character death, descriptions of a dead body and a crime scene (no blood or gore, though, nothing too graphic)
Word Count: ~6,600
Summary: Noir AU. PI Arthur Lake gets called out to what he thinks is a routine case to help out a friend; things get a lot more complicated when he finds out who the victim is and meets William Eames, the person who found the body.
Author Notes: [livejournal.com profile] vvu asked for a Noir AU, with Eames as a conman/thief and Arthur as an uptight detective/policeman. Title comes from "505" by Arctic Monkeys, which is one of my favourite Arthur/Eames songs out there. Massive kudos to Raymond Chandler, whom I tapped for inspiration while I was writing this, and a huge thank you to my fantastic beta [livejournal.com profile] zolac_no_miko for the quick and thorough job! I've made some changes to the final draft; all remaining mistakes are my own.
