You know, as soon as the show started tonight, I thought of you, and I wondered whether you watch it and whether it's at all representative of Hawaii. I wasn't even aware of it being a remake!
Mind you, I've only seen one episode (so far), and I think for me it's mostly the banter between Steve and Danny that made the show. I've no idea how it's going to be for you, someone who's native to the area!
A hell of a lot of people have been going on about it recently; foxxcub is also a huge fan (she's the one who got me thinking about it in the first place). I have to tell you, though, most of the fuss has been about Steve/Danny rather than (/as well as) the show itself. I did think it was neat, and I'm really looking forward to the next episode! I guess, give it a go, at least? You can tell me all the stuff they got wrong! :D
