I was once, on a fanfic site dedicated to one fandom, required to have a beta to pick out my Americanisms since the show was British. It was seriously a site requirement. I don't have enough Britishisms to have them slip into my work, though every single one I've picked up shows up IRL.
Funny, I find Arthur much easier, which is probably why so much of my stuff becomes kind of a character study on him even when I don't want it to. *glares at r!bb*
Suit porn probably never caught my attention because it's not like I see guys in suits that much. :)
