this is a lovely turn of phrase. I really like the way you captured the sharpness of their reunion, and how disappointed Danny is with Steve's actions toward him. it rings very true, even though they're both still hurting. :(
and Steve. Steve is so brave to bring up that letter, thinking that Danny hadn't called on purpose. *squishes him* the twist on the football game was also fantastic, the way Grace pushes them forward just by being the sweetness thing ever.
this whole story is just so heartfelt. a wonderful twist on the canon and really fantastic writing. thank you so much for sharing it with us. :D
