Truth be told, I don't know about American reservists, but our reservists get called up an x amount times a year for training and/or missions. Usually a week or a weekend, but you know, Steve might get called up for longer because he's a speshul snowflake :). Coming back from that was what I had in mind, but run with it if you like, as you as he's coming home from something (I like reunions).
