Danny, drunk and maudlin on Christmas, spending it alone without Grace and Rachel, wishes on the stroke of midnight that he had someone too, just for himself. And in the morning, he wakes up next to a lovely woman in bed with him, acting like she's always been there. As Danny gets used to his new life, he slowly starts to realise that he already had someone just for him, only he hadn't realised it before. Up to the writer who the mystery woman is (could be the doc, could be an OC). Bonus points if she's the one who makes Danny realise what Steve means to him, and that Steve's been waiting patiently for Danny to twig.
