You captured Star's tension really well - I enjoyed reading this! And it is a really fascinating area to explore, that facet of Star's empathy - just what does it mean for him whenever he gets involved with someone? Because if he's not aware of his own empathy, then when he senses lust or disgust or caring within others, he thinks that it comes from him (he's sort of like an emotional mirror), and he acts on those reflected emotions thinking that they originate with him... which actually explains a lot about him, if we go down that track, and casts into doubt all of his meaningful relationships, both violent and benevolent. Like, did he want Milo only because Milo wanted him first? And does he want Zan, or is he just picking up and reflecting Zan's desire? Heee - this is such a fascinating idea.
