Right? Right? It's stupid -- yeah, I was excited about today, as every Anglophile would be, but I think I hadn't realised JUST HOW MUCH I missed England until I started watching the live coverage and listening to the Brits chat. It hits me like that sometimes.

--Anyway, that wasn't what I was going to say. I was going to say that now that I AM watching the live coverage, I WANT ALL THE STORIES. ALL OF THEM. And since H50 has hijacked my brain of late, this is what comes out. :D

In other, less British Royal Squee-related (and I plan to make a longer post about more social-theory-related topics) news, do you think anyone would be interested in H50 podfics recorded in a somewhat British accent? I have been thinking about this for a while, I'd like to record some of my favourite fics, purely for personal indulgence, but should I make them available fandom-wide? Thoughts?

Well, I do not profess to be the world's biggest expert on the podficcing community... I have a friend who is super into recording podfics, but I've never listened to one in my life. I am inclined to encourage you simply for the sake of being encouraging, and also because I feel that people who like podfic would be happy to see more podfic available, and the people who write the fics are usually tickled to have their story podficced. I can't imagine anyone will be bothered with the accent.

Yeah, that's pretty much what I've been thinking. I love podfics, because I can't read when I'm in a moving vehicle, like a car or a bus, it gives me a headache, but I go insane if I don't have something to do, so podfics are perfect, really. I also listen to them when I'm at the gym. I've been thinking about this for a long time, and I think that once I'm done with this stupid dissertation that's eating my life, I'll definitely give it a go!

BTW appropriate icon is appropriate. <3

I caught some of it on TV. My first thought was, "Holy crap, Prince Charles got old!" That and noticing that William had the same bald spot as his dad. I wonder if there is some sort of rule against British royals going to the Hair Club for Men.

And what about Prince Albert? He has really aged, as has the Queen herself. Wills has definitely inherited his dad's problem hair, poor boy! He still looks charming, though.

The Queen has always been old as far back I can actually remember. I guess now she's just really old.

Well, that was mainly me being a ditz -- it's Prince Philip who's married to the queen; Prince Albert was her great-grandfather. *facepalm* It's just that I make that association, I don't even know why.

It's actually fortunate that's the first thing that comes into your mind -- I can't get past the Prince Albert connotations as referred to in piercings circles...

The wedding was just beautiful and I tuned in just in time for their vows :)

And Kate's dress was so simple and elegant and I can't say enough about those lace sleeves--Lovely!

I am all Royal Wedding-ed out! :D I planned to make another post about it today, but I've just toasted the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge with a hefty White Russian, and I'm now mellow and happy and bed-ready, so I don't think I'll post more about it tonight.

It was beautiful, the whole thing, perfectly executed, for which the British police and military have my admirations! Kate's dress was absolutely gorgeous -- I have such a weakness for that lace sleeves/neckline. I've always imagined my wedding dress, if I should ever get married, looking much like this one, sans the 10 ft train!

I hope they are very, very happy together; they looked so in love, I sobbed all the way through the vows! <3
