zarah5 and me have been maybe a liiiittle traumatised by all the angst in the finale (eggs notwithstanding), and wanted ALL THE HAPPY from the past season to make us feel the Steve/Danny endorphins like we're used to, we decided to compile our Top Ten McDanno moments of the series so far. ETA: zarah5's ones are here!
So then I sat down trying to sort those out, and my initial list was thirty moments long, and those were just the LOL ones. This is maybe quite hard to do WHEN THIS SHOW IS SO GOOD AT GIVING US MCDANNO. I have AGONISED over the choices, but finally I have whittled them down to just ten. ARGH ARGH IT WAS SO HARD.
So here we go!
10. Steve lying to the Feds for his partner, which is when he realises there is literally NOTHING he won't do for this loud, angry, Jersey transplant he has somehow fallen head over heels for.
To wit:
9. The 'Sexy Eyes' cargument. Because Steve is A Goof who loves cheesy music/ loves to annoy Danny with cheesy music (I am undecided on the level of fucking with Danny going on). HIS SAD POUTY FACE WHEN DANNY DOESN'T LIKE IT. WHAT EVEN. ♥
8. When Steve rushes over tohold Danny's hand help Danny tail his brother.
[paraphrases] "Yeah, I know what 'nothing' means. You know what? Stay right there, I'm on my way."
TRUE LOVE. He's not about to let his Danny face this alone.
7. The "You're gonna pay for this" speech. THE HEARTSEYES. THE EYEHUMPING. STEVE'S SMUG LITTLE FACE. <333
6. Dinner with the Williams family. WHERE DO I EVEN START. SO MARRIED. SO IN LOVE.
5. Steve: "Since you look so... so good" /relieved, besotted smile/
Danny: "Yuh huh. You were worried, weren't you? I love you too, you goof."
4. The "Till I met him" speech at Kono's graduation. Steve's smug little 'that's right' lift of his eyebrows, OH MY GOD, I LOVE HIM. AND SO DOES DANNY. JUST LOOK AT THE HEARTSEYES HE GIVES HIM. 3. The "SO A DATE" with the Marquis up the mountain. As you know, I HAVE ~FEEEEELINGS ABOUT THAT ONE. Steve fixes his daddy's car and IMMEDIATELY calls Danny to try it out, because WHO ELSE IS HE GOING TO CALL, and Danny's all, "well done, babe", AND IT'S ALL SO MUCH LOVE AND NNNNNGH OH MY GOD SCOTTY CAAN WITH HIS TIE UNDONE AND HIS SHIRT OPEN, YES PLEASE. STEVE HAS ~FEEEEEEELINGS ABOUT THAT ONE, TOO.
"Temperamental. Just like you." AND THAT'S JUST ONE OF THE REASONS YOU LOVE, HIM, STEVE.
2. Steve's "I'm the one with the broken arm, but please be careful up there, my love, it's slippery" face. BECAUSE HE LOVES HIS DANNO SO MUCH. Even more than the airheart, this shows the depth of their feelings for each other, Danny all frantic "I will get you out, babe, I promise" (much like the most recent ep), and Steve's "I trust you with my life, babe, I know you will, just be careful, okay? I don't want you to get hurt".
1. "I know you." Possibly the most romantic moment in the season so far for me. This was the one that sold me on the pairing hook, line and sinker. It's just -- HE KNOWS HIM, OKAY. HE KNOWS HIM AND HE'S THERE FOR HIM AND DANNY'S BECOME PART OF HIS FAMILY AND HAS WORMED HIS WAY INTO HIS LIFE/HEART WITHOUT HIM REALISING, AND HE DOESN'T CARE WHAT IT TAKES, HE IS GOING TO TAKE CARE OF HIM AND PROTECT HIM AND STAND BY HIM COME WHAT MAY. I LOVE THOSE TWO BOYS FOREVER AND EVER. <33333
It may be a controversial list, with many classic McDanno moments passed over in favour of DOMESTIC FLUFF and the little everyday moments that make us love them SO MUCH, but I gotta say, those are my absolute kryptonite, and I LOVE the two of them to distraction, beyond common sense, beyond any reason. I hope you've enjoyed them with me! <333

It would have been #11! :D The I know you one, I saw the ep later than when it had aired, and I was like, SOLD right then and there. Basically what went through my mind was, JUST SOMEONE TRY TO TELL ME THEY ARE NOT IN LOVE AFTER THIS. JUST TRY IT SO I CAN LAUGH IN THEIR FACES.

I have to say... I am actually sort of a reluctant slasher. I read a lot of slash, but I don't actively ship a lot of pairings. But sometimes the slash is so GODDAMN BLATANT it just can't be denied. Like Castiel is so in love with Dean it is not even funny. And Eames and Arthur were definitely flirting, okay, THAT HAPPENED. And Steve and Danny are the most MARRIEDEST MARRIED COUPLE EVER, WHAT EVEN, THIS SHOW, I JUST. HOLY CRAP IT IS BLATANT. So yes, I do, I ship these guys hardcore.
