For me it's authors like Laurell K. Hamilton, Sherrilyn Kenyon, J. R. Ward and so on. I can devour one of their books and then stick them in the back of my bookshelf ready for the next time I need something of that variety. Igleefully admit to owning not a few books from their series (J. R. Ward in particular is a favourite for those occasions). I call them my Vampire Trash collection.
