Date: 2011-06-14 03:58 am (UTC)AREN'T YOU GLAD MY BOSS GOT SICK? I should tell him that some woman in Bulgaria who doesn't even know him is glad he got sick, see what he says. :P So yeah, I'll be heading off Wednesday morning and getting back Thursday afternoon. I'm disappointed, because that's one less night than we were planning, and one less night = less fun, and also I was hoping to use some of that away-from-internet time to get some of my writing done.

I freaking LOVE this song. The lyrics are so cheeky, and a hell of a lot of fun!
"Dancing Shoes" from Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not
This song has been in my head ALL DAY YESTERDAY. LOVE the bassline! <3
"Do Me a Favour" from Favourite Worst Nightmare
One of my FAVOURITE Monkeys songs. IDEK what it is about it, but it can ALWAYS get me going! <3 You can't hear the bassline too well on this version, but the rest of them were too fuzzy.
"When the Sun Comes Down" from Whatever people say I am, that's what I'm not
FABULOUS lyrics. Very irreverant, and Alex's accent really comes through here. The bassline is pumpin', and the rhythm overall is just brilliant.
"Cornerstone" from Humbug
Again, brilliant lyrics, a lovely break-up song. Full of pining and lost chances. Kind of sad, but oh my god, the music. /swoons/
ARE YOU SOLD YET?? :D

Date: 2011-06-14 08:27 am (UTC)I WAS SOLD A WHILE AGO, THE HOMEOWNERS JUST HAVEN'T... MOVED IN... OR SOME OTHER METAPHOR LESS BIZARRE.
Are you familiar with Voxtrot? It's occurred to me, listening to all these Monkeys songs all together like this, that they sound a little bit Voxtrot, a little bit White Stripes, a little bit Beatles... and a little bit themselves.
