Did you know that this film is a Hollywood version of the Korean film, Il mare? I've seen both and both are quite good. I have no qualms against using one plot with another's characters.

This could be good for sasunaru too /fangirleyes

WHY YOU NO WRITE MORE SASUNARU?

[identity profile] sirona-gs.livejournal.com 2011-07-15 01:07 pm (UTC)(link)
Ahahaha, Hollywood has such sticky fingers, omg, ripping off all the cool plots! That film, I was hesitant to watch it for the longest time, and then when I did I was completely enchanted.

I think I'm pretty much over SasuNaru? I certainly haven't thought of them for months and months. I guess those new fandoms pretty much took over my brain -- there just isn't any space left for those two boys. Also, I think those humungous stories I wrote with Ember and for Sarah pretty much sapped my inspiration -- because I poured every feeling I had about the two of them into those, and I just don't really like rehashing the same thing over and over again. /shrugs/ Anyway, I'm not completely ruling out more, but while before every idea I had was for the two of them, now it's for Steve/Danny or Charles/Erik, and to a lesser degree, Arthur/Eames.

I'm not familiar with The Lake House, but loneliness and letter-writing are never not good ideas.

Your fake marriage plot suddenly (and I suppose rather inexplicably) made me think of H/D. I don't think I've ever seen a Harlequin-type treatment of them, and the thought is strangelyl alluring. They've certainly got the initial friction and attraction/antipathy thing down.

It seems like everyone in H/D land is saying that they've got only one more H/D in them, or that they've got an idea for a fic and it will be their H/D swansong. *weeps* *consoles myself by hoping that seeing DH2 will engender some pesky plot bunnies in your fertile brain*

The Lake House is quite enchanting. It's got a strong story and the cinematography is beautiful. I would highly recommend it, except be sure to arm yourself with tissues because the ending is so perfectly happy you may bawl your eyes out. :D

There's been a lot of that on my flist, too. I don't like to buy into that, because to me H/D has infinite potential. The AU options -- why, we've barely scratched the surface. I don't think the fandom will die out any time soon. And it is my firm belief that ALL FANDOMS REQUIRE MULTIPLE HARLEQUINISED VERSIONS OF STORIES. Just sayin'. XP H/D will always be one of the most interesting pairings I've come across.

I didn't expect to like the Lake House but it surprised me. I really, really enjoyed it and I'd love to read an AU. :)

Me either, but I found myself enjoying it so very much, despite the rating of approximately four soaked tissues I gave it. I will definitely be writing an AU -- just depends which pairing strikes me with it first (after the P&P debacle I make no plans on a pairing until my fickle muse settles on one).

I loved the Lake House, none of my friends did so they mock me endlessly when they see it in my dvd binder, but not only did I love the story, I love Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock together. I had this very intense crush on him growing him and those two together are like my favorite on screen couple. (I might have watched Speed way too many times as a kid)

Also, it could totally work for Steve and Danny because I'm picturing Three Rivers and O'Lough is a mighty fine doctor no matter how bad the scripts are.

Me too, I loved that film! I am still undecided on the pairing, I'll be honest. And like I said to Laria, I'll hold off until a pairing establishes itself as a frontrunner, to avoid the whole P&P fiasco of the last couple weeks. D:

look at Danny's smile! one of my favorite.

I'd love to see how you'd spin a Lake House AU! I've read fandom take on it before, though now for the life of me I couldn't say with what pairing. OMG. lololol! I guess I read too much and it becomes a blur. the worst is that I had loved it.

ETA: it drove me nuts, I had to find it again. I had a suspicion it was SGA, and it was. I'd still love to read a X-Men or a H50 version. very very much!

I <3 that film so much! Totally got hold of it to watch again. As research, of course. Ahem. >.> I think I'll watch it, and see which pairing jumps out at me most. At this point it could be either. Strange -- there have been points when any idea I get, it would be for one pairing only. This one? It could go to the judges.

I haven't seen the Lake House and I don't read Inception or XMFC fic so I am useless! :D

Never useless, bb! <3

As I am basically a fan of all stories epistolary, I can only go YES YES YES PLEASE.

[identity profile] sirona-gs.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 05:35 am (UTC)(link)
Me too, me too! I ♥ epistolary fics like burningggg. I think I'm definitely writing that one; it's just a matter of seeing which pair latches onto the idea first.

i haven't the foggiest idea what the lake house is about, but...frustrated? danny does frustrated excellently! also, steve would clearly be lonely without his danno around...

[identity profile] sirona-gs.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 05:36 am (UTC)(link)
Actually, this has given me an idea... We shall see where it goes! :D But yes, dude, excellent point!!
