My favorite story of mine this year: Hmmm. That's always a terribly tough question. I think it's a toss-up between I've got you under my skin and Don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet. I'm the proudest of how those two turned out.

Story most underappreciated by the universe, in my opinion: Hmmm. Possibly Here comes your man? Could be I posted it right before Marvel Big Bang went live, and it kind of got lost in the middle of all those awesome long stories? IDK.

Most fun story: Again, it's a toss-up between From Russia With Love and (I can say this now, because reveals are imminent) the Yuletide treat I wrote, Have a Very Merry 00 Christmas. That last one was a delight to brainstorm and write, and the first one, with Bond meeting Bucky -- no comment necessary. :D

Most sexy story: Well. According to the comments I got for them, it's a toss-up between So turn around and I'll pick up the slack and It's in the water, baby. Although In the backseat put up a very good fight, too! :)

Story with single sweetest moment: Personally, I adore the moment in My heart was wrapped up in clover where Clint turns up to make things right. :')

Most unintentionally *telling* story: Oh, god. I think it really is Don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet. So much of myself went into writing this story, I was incredibly nervous posting it. :) Runner-ups have to be And I'll cross oceans like never before and I swear I'll drive all night just to buy you some shoes.

Fic that shifted my own perceptions of the characters: Science and Progress (do not speak as loud as my heart), I think. That's the story that made me stop and think and have a revelation about Steve that's now firmly into head canon territory. :) Also, I will ask you to open my door from your side, which I wrote with delicatale, for a story that made me look at all the characters in just a slightly different way. I still want to write the follow-up to that so badly.

Biggest disappointment: Hmmm. I don't think I had one? I was disappointed that I've got you under my skin didn't do better? I expected it to do better. Maybe I'm just too involved in that story to see it objectively? IDK.

Biggest surprise: I think it was how extremely very well And I'll cross oceans like never before did? I did not expect that at all! :D 911 Kudos, over 25,000 hits. I'm just ajhkfhdsf over it! :D I am also extremely gratified by just how amazingly well Don't be alarmed if I fall head over feet is doing, since like I mentioned before, it was maybe the most personal story I've yet to write in that fandom. :) Just thrilled about it! <3

Hardest story to write: I think that was I've got you under my skin, which is why I wish it had done better. It took me weeks to get going, I kept getting stuck, I think I re-wrote the plot outline about six times, drew plot maps. Many of you will remember me tearing my hair out over it. And then I ended up writing it in a single week when I unblocked myself (largely thanks to bloody Bucky Barnes, who ended up taking over. :DDD).

Easiest story to write: Quite possibly it was Only his ring finger knows? It took me maybe 45 minutes to write, and it's ended up one of my most popular stories this year. :)

This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most: Oooh, that's a tough one! Well, I have to say, this year was an Avengers (and Clint/Coulson) year through and through. So I'll have to choose a Clint/Coulson story -- and I can't think of anything better than Conditional Value At Risk. It illustrates everything I adore about this fandom: boys in love, pining, how well they fit together, as well as showcasing my favourite things: alternate universes, coffee shop AUs, Clint and Phil being themselves, a sweet kind of rightness. :)


All in all, it's been a great year to write! :D Didn't write as much as 2011 (which was truly an INSANELY good writing year), but I wrote more complex, more thought-out stories? I'm so happy with how my writing is progressing. And I'm so blessed that my stories have brought me so many amazingly wonderful people for friends! <3 I love you guys so much. :')

I've been such a flake about hanging out here this past month. /0\ What with finishing two blasted Big Bang fics, setting up an RBB with some awesome people, a week in England (WHICH WAS SO AMAZING OMGGGGG), packing up to move, and starting a new job, it's been mental. I'm totally going to try to post more often, though I have no idea how much time I'm going to have free from the new job -- it's looking to be a busy one. In the meantime, at least writing is going well? /0\ SO MANY FICS I'M WORKING ON RIGHT NOW, HOLY CRAP. :D Twitter is basically taking up all my energy left over from writing and other RL stuff. I haven't even ventured on tumblr for weeks.

On the plus side, have now sort of semi-officially moved out, which is THE BEST NEWS EVER. \0/ Started the new job today, and my flat ought to get freed up at the start of June. CANNOT. WAIT. To have my own place finally, to set it up and make it mine. (THERE IS EVEN A TINY BACK GARDEN. WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH SO MUCH WIN. *________* Pics as soon as they happen!!) So if I'm scarce around here in the next month, you'll know why... /0\ Apart from fic. I anticipate a lot of that as I blow off steam. :D

Sooo. Almost an entire month ago (because I fail so hard at things right now) I promised ironfries that I would compile a Clint/Coulson fic rec list for hir, so I could incept hir into the wonderful world of the sniper who loves his agent and the agent who can't (well, okay, he can, but he'd rather not, it would be so boring) live without his sniper.

In order to achieve this, I have solicited the help of a number of excellent people, who have gifted me with the wisdom of their experience. Thus, I present to you my rec list of awesomesauce C/C fics that I have read, re-read, adored, and bookmarked the hell out of.

Now, it's basically a given that I'll have missed something. A bunch of things, even. So, please, feel free to use the comments to add to this list -- because sure as hell, there's no way I'll have read everything that is out there; rather, it's pretty much an iron-clad guarantee that I won't have.

God, I haven't posted in ages. I'm sorry, I'm just, overwhelmed-busy. Been away for the weekend to gran's, just came back, and of course no internet there. I've only got the strength to log onto twitter at this point, sadly. :(

It's baby Nicky's birthday today!! \0/ Little boy is one year old! <3 It's been a strange, amazing, sad, tough, awesome year. I'm happy to still be around, and I'm happy to have all you guys around with me. ♥ /reflection

In other news, the Cap_IM RBB is KICKING MY ARSE. Happily, found out today that I had my deadlines all mixed up -- in fact, it's not this Friday (13th April), but rather 24th April! WHICH IS A GINORMOUS RELIEF, LET ME TELL YOU. There's so much of this story yet to tell, it's all I can do at the moment to keep up.

Jesus, I'm sorry, I'm just, so tired right now. Drove back from Sofia this morning, after faffing around on twitter until almost half one last night, so hardly enough sleep. Haven't been sleeping all that well, either. Fucking full moon. :((( So all I want right now is to take a nap, but I suspect baby Nicky should be awake soon, so IDK how feasible that is. :)

ANYWAY. I want to make a nice long-ass rec list for Clint/Coulson, because IT IS AMAZING AND THERE SHOULD BE MORE PEOPLE INTO IT. :D And also because it would be so much easier to point people to it when they ask me. So I guess time to compile some fics! :D Tell me, you guys -- which ones are your favourites? Which ones should definitely be put on this list? That would make my job tons easier. <3

I read this fascinating article today (seriously mind-blowing, I heartily recommed you give it a go) -- and now I would like to talk about it. :)

Okay so I have maybe been having A LOT OF THOUGHTS since I read this. Isn't it fascinating what the brain perceives as 'real'? This is The Matrix all over again -- what is real? Is it real just because you can smell and touch it? Or is it just as real when it's only our brains that perceive it? After all, what is 'real' if not impulses that the brain interprets? So who's to say that by reading, and writing as we do; and by having deep, meaningful relationships online with people we have never met, that they aren't real? That we aren't just as loved by them as by people we have seen, smelled, touched? God, I could read 48754974 words on the subject. This ties in neatly with the AI thoughts I've been having of recent -- sometimes I wish I'd had the foresight to go into neuroscience while I was at uni, because I could talk about this shit FOREVER.

Gives a whole new meaning to 'lost in a good book', not to mention living vicariously through so-called 'fictional characters' -- because aren't we, all of us, fictional characters to other people? I mean, really? Certainly we are to sociopaths, but why is it easier to insult or bully someone online, for example, as it is to do it to someone IRL, even though that person online is just as real as the person sitting next to you on the train, only they're sitting a continent away from you?

I have, for the past five years, lived my life through fictional characters so much more than in reality. And anyway, who the fuck are people to tell me that to me, this isn't just as real as their spouses they come home to every night? Who's to say that I haven't been in a relationship for the past eight-odd years, when I am in one every night when I open up a book, or my 'to-read' list of fic bookmarks? It's really all a question of perception, and how we choose to interpret our own experiences. Who's to say that this isn't my real life, rather than a state of fugue while I wait for it to begin?

...Wow, I appear to have A LOT OF THOUGHTS on the subject. But it's just so utterly fascinating to me. Descartes ftw! :) By all means, if you find this as fascinating as I do, come talk to me! :)
